Bloomfield Township residents will get their say on Birmingham Country Club's plan to expand its clubhouse before the Board of Trustees votes on the project Monday, August 10.
The township posted a public hearing notice on Wednesday, July 22, confirming the board will consider a site plan and special land use request for a kitchen and snack bar addition at the club's 1750 Saxon Drive property, along with renovations to its outdoor terrace.
The hearing begins at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium at Bloomfield Township Hall, 4200 Telegraph Road.
Planning Commission already weighed in
The proposal first went before Bloomfield Township's Planning Commission on Monday, July 20. Under township procedure, the Planning Commission makes a recommendation before the Board of Trustees takes its final vote. The commission's formal recommendation has not been published. The township scheduled the board hearing two days later.
What the club wants to build
Birmingham Country Club is asking to add a kitchen and snack bar to its existing clubhouse and renovate the outdoor terrace. The township's notice does not include project costs, square footage, or architectural renderings.
The club sits on a parcel that carries a Birmingham mailing address but falls within Bloomfield Township's jurisdiction, which is why the township board has land-use authority over the project.

If the board does not act on August 10, its next regularly scheduled meeting falls on Monday, August 24.
