Bloomfield Township police handled 589 calls for service the week of July 20, 2026, through July 26, with 45 traffic crashes and 27 arrests, according to the department's weekly media report.

The crash total included eight personal injury collisions, five hit-and-runs, 24 property damage crashes, four on private property, and three car-versus-deer incidents. Of the 589 calls, 241 were traffic stops.

Arrests

Among the 27 arrests, officers booked four for operating while intoxicated, 10 for driving with a suspended license, and one each for identity theft, receiving and concealing a stolen vehicle, selling marijuana, assault and battery, resisting and obstructing, no license on person, and probation violation. Five people were arrested on misdemeanor warrants.

The 10 suspended-license arrests stood out. The department's July 7–12 report logged just three such arrests.

Larceny on 14 Mile Road

On July 24, at approximately 5 a.m., three suspects pulled up in a truck on the 27000 block of 14 Mile Road, ran into a driveway, and entered an unlocked Range Rover, according to the police report. They took roughly $70 in cash from the center console.

A Mercedes-Benz parked in the same driveway was also checked but nothing was stolen from it. The suspects fled in the truck. The case has been turned over to the Bloomfield Township Investigations Unit.

Activity comparison

The July 20–26 period was notably busier than earlier in the month. Compared with the six-day reporting period of July 7 through July 12, calls for service rose from 436 to 589, total crashes nearly doubled from 24 to 45, and arrests climbed from 22 to 27, according to department reports. The July 7–12 period is the closest available comparison; the immediately preceding week's aggregate data was not included in the report.
