Seaholm visits Groves in Birmingham football rivalry

The Maples travel to Groves High School in Beverly Hills for a 7 p.m. kickoff Friday, Sept. 18.

Seaholm enters the matchup 2-1 overall and 1-0 in Oakland Activities Association Blue play. The Maples opened the season with a 30-13 loss to Milford before beating Royal Oak 56-7 and Waterford Mott 41-20 in consecutive weeks.

Groves is also 2-1 overall. The Falcons lost their opener 14-13 at North Farmington before responding with a 49-6 win at Berkley and a 42-0 home victory over Southfield Arts & Technology. Groves is 1-1 in OAA Blue play.

The matchup gives both teams a chance to build on two-game winning streaks. Seaholm has scored 97 points over its past two games, while Groves has outscored its past two opponents 91-6.

Friday’s game is the first varsity meeting between the programs this season. Groves won last year’s matchup 21-14 at Seaholm on Oct. 24, 2025.

Seaholm is scheduled to play at Oak Park on Friday, Sept. 25, while Groves is set to host Harper Woods the same night.
