The Bloomfield Hills High School Varsity Dance Team will host its first-ever Junior Black Hawk Dance Clinic on Wednesday, August 26, from noon to 3 p.m. in the BHHS Auxiliary Gymnasium.

Dancers in kindergarten through eighth grade will learn a pom routine from varsity team members and coaches, then perform it at halftime of the Black Hawks' football season opener the following evening.

Head coach Scott Merchant's squad opens the 2026 season against L'Anse Creuse of Harrison Township on Thursday, August 27, at 7 p.m. at the BHHS stadium, according to MHSAA records. Clinic participants will rehearse before the halftime performance, with specific arrival times to be shared closer to the event.

Registration is open at register.capturepoint.com through CapturePoint. Material fees will be collected separately closer to the clinic date, according to the Bloomfield Hills Schools district announcement.

The Black Hawks travel to Lake Orion on Thursday, September 3, at 7 p.m. for their second game of the season.
