Bowers Farm's Fall Festival returns to Bloomfield Hills

Pumpkin picking, wagon rides, live music and a beer garden return to Bloomfield Hills as Bowers Farm kicks off its annual Fall Festival on Friday, Oct. 2.

The festival at Discovery Oaks Park, 1219 E. Square Lake Road, runs Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through Oct. 31, according to the Oakland County Times and Bowers Farm's own website. Friday hours are 5–9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday hours are 10 a.m.–4 p.m.

Admission bought in advance at OaklandCountyParks.com costs $15 for Oakland County residents, $19 for non-residents and $8 for farm members. At the door, prices rise to $17, $21 and $10. That ticket covers the Cornfield Quest, a wagon ride, bouncer pad, hay climbing tower, farm animal visits, live music, inflatables and farm games.

Horse rides cost an extra $5 for riders ages 4 and up, and the apple launcher is $1, according to LittleGuide Detroit. Pumpkins in small, medium, large and specialty sizes carry separate fees.

Animals on site include goats, ponies, horses, sheep, pigs, a llama, rabbits and poultry.

"The Fall Festival is jam-packed with activities, but it's really about bringing people together outdoors for a shared experience around food and farming," Erin Watson, chief of health and wellness activation for Oakland County Parks, told the Oakland County Times.

Friends of Bowers Farm and Griffin Claw Brewing Company sponsor the beer garden. Jeep is the presenting sponsor for opening weekend and the festival's wagon sponsor.

The 87-acre working farm has operated since 1967. Bloomfield Hills Schools owns the property, and Oakland County Parks handles day-to-day management under a 30-year interlocal agreement. The Oakland County Board of Commissioners had an amendment to that agreement on its Sept. 17 agenda, though the outcome has not been confirmed.

The farm draws roughly 40,000 visitors a year, according to a November 2025 public engagement survey presented to the Bloomfield Hills Schools board. That survey drew nearly 750 participants and found 53% had attended the Fall Festival.

The 2024 festival earned recognition beyond the farm gates. Bloomfield Community Television's coverage of the 2024 event won a National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors (NATOA) Award of Honor.

The event runs rain or shine. No refunds on tickets.
