A DoorDash driver who pulled a gun on a group of women outside a Bloomfield Township home walked away with a two-day jail sentence Monday, July 27, after pleading no contest to a reduced misdemeanor charge.

Oakland County Circuit Judge David Cohen sentenced Andrew Boyer, 37, to time served for disorderly person/disturbing the peace. Boyer must also pay a $200 fine and $125 in court costs, according to The Oakland Press.

The case is closed.

What happened on Woodland Pass

The confrontation took place Sunday, Feb. 2, 2025, in the 500 block of Woodland Pass. According to Bloomfield Township police, Boyer had just dropped off a DoorDash order when a verbal disagreement with several women escalated. The women reportedly followed Boyer to his car while yelling at him.

Boyer then pulled a handgun from his waistband, chambered a round and shouted at the women to get away from him, police said.

Charges rose, then fell

Bloomfield Township police initially charged Boyer with brandishing a firearm in public, a misdemeanor. The Oakland County Prosecutor's Office later upgraded the charge to felonious assault, saying the evidence supported the higher charge. That felony carries up to four years in prison and a fine of up to $2,000.

But in April, Boyer pleaded no contest to the lesser disorderly person charge as part of a plea agreement, The Oakland Press reported. The felonious assault count was dismissed. The disorderly person charge carried a maximum of 90 days in jail and a $500 fine.

Boyer's final penalty: two days already served and $325 in fines and costs.
