Seaholm High School hosts Southfield Arts & Technology at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2, at Maple Field in a homecoming game that doubles as the school's 75th anniversary celebration.

Birmingham Public Schools branded the daylong event the Diamond Jubilee. Field day activities ran from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the gym. School tours and a special anniversary celebration follow from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. The homecoming football game caps the evening. The district invited students, families, alumni, staff and community members to attend, calling the anniversary a major milestone for the school.

The school originally opened as Birmingham High School in 1951, a date consistent with the district's 75th-anniversary framing.

The game will stream on NFHS Network, and tickets are available through GoFan, according to MaxPreps.

The Maples enter the OAA-Blue conference game at 3-2 overall and 2-1 in league play, good for third in the division, per MaxPreps' schedule page. They carry a one-game winning streak after beating Oak Park 21-20 on Sept. 25. Before that, the Maples dropped a 14-13 rivalry game to Groves on Sept. 18.

Seaholm opened the season with a 30-13 loss to Milford on Aug. 29, then rolled past Royal Oak 56-7 on Sept. 3 and Waterford Mott 41-20 on Sept. 10.

Southfield Arts & Tech arrives at 1-4.

The program has won 14 OAA-Blue league championships between 1982 and 2023, according to the Seaholm Maples Football account on X. The account called on fans to wear spirit gear to the game and anniversary celebration.

The homecoming dance follows Saturday, Oct. 3. Seaholm's next game is Friday, Oct. 9, at 7 p.m. against Harper Woods.
