Bloomfield Hills midfielder Bridget Kopmeyer is headed to the national stage.
U.S. Under-17 Women's National Team head coach Ciara Crinion named Kopmeyer to a 24-player roster for a training camp at the Arthur M. Blank U.S. Soccer National Training Center in Fayetteville, Ga., U.S. Soccer announced on Thursday, Aug. 6. She is the only player from Michigan on the roster.
The camp is the final preparation event before Crinion selects 21 players to represent the United States at the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup in Morocco, which runs Oct. 17 through Nov. 8. Three will be cut.
Kopmeyer plays club soccer for Michigan Tigers, an Ann Arbor-based program that competes in the Girls Academy league. She is one of seven midfielders on the roster, which also includes three goalkeepers, eight defenders and six forwards. The squad features one professional player, defender Meila Brewer of the Kansas City Current, and three college players. Kopmeyer is among the club-level selections.
During camp, the U.S. will face three World Cup-bound opponents:
- Mexico, Thursday, Aug. 13, at 5 p.m. ET
- Chile, Sunday, Aug. 16, at 8 p.m. ET
- Canada, Wednesday, Aug. 19, at 5 p.m. ET
All three matches will be streamed on U.S. Soccer's YouTube page.
The U.S. U-17 Women's National Team enters camp with a 6-2-1 record in 2026. At the World Cup, the Americans will face Samoa, Kenya and China in Group E play.
According to SoccerWire, forwards Maddie DiMaria and Deus Stanislaus lead the team with eight goals each this year, while midfielder Loradana Paletta and forward Amari Manning have five apiece.
