Birmingham Seaholm is scheduled to host Rochester Adams in an OAA crossover game Friday, Oct. 16, according to Bill Watson’s Oct. 9 post on X. Both teams enter at 4-3.
The crossover is a non-division game. Seaholm plays in the OAA Blue; Adams plays in the OAA Red. The Week 8 matchup has not yet appeared on either team's MaxPreps schedule: Seaholm or Adams.
Seaholm fell to Harper Woods 47-7 on Friday, Oct. 9, in a game that got away early. Harper Woods led 34-0 at halftime, The Oakland Press reported, and the Maples never recovered. Brody Gable scored Seaholm's only touchdown on an 8-yard run, the newspaper reported.
The loss ended any OAA Blue title hopes. Harper Woods clinched the division outright at 5-0 in league play.
Seaholm's season has had bright spots. The Maples beat Oak Park 21-20 in Week 5. Seaholm has scored 200 points through seven games, per MaxPreps.
Rochester Adams presents a different challenge. The Highlanders sit 2-1 in OAA Red play and 4-3 overall after beating Stoney Creek 23-14 in Week 7, according to MaxPreps.
Five of Adams' first six contests were decided by a combined 15 points, based on its listed results.
The MHSAA (Michigan High School Athletic Association) sends the top 32 teams by playoff-point average in each 11-player division to the postseason, according to MLive’s explanation of the system.
A loss would drop either team to 4-4 heading into the final regular-season week. Seaholm travels to Utica on Oct. 23. Adams hosts Oak Park the same night.
